A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr Omoyele Olabode, has congratulated Prince Diran Iyantan on his ratification as the National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the APC.
Report has it that the party leadership at the weekend ratified Iyantan’s appointment to replace Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke, who resigned from the position after picking the party’s ticket for the Ondo South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Iyantan, who hails from Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area, was expected to have assume duty at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
In a congratulatory message made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, Olabode described Iyantan’s emergence as well-deserved and a reward for years of loyalty and commitment to the progressive family.
He said, “I heartily congratulate our leader, Prince Diran Iyantan, on his affirmation as the APC National Vice Chairman for the South-West.
“This is a testament to his steadfastness, administrative experience and grassroots appeal.
“As a former Federal Commissioner at the National Population Commission and a respected leader from Okitipupa LGA.
“I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the party in the South-West and repositioning it for greater victories in 2027.”
Olabode who is the founder of the Olabode Humanitarian Foundation (OHF), said the movement of the position from Ese-Odo to Okitipupa LGA is a source of pride to the people of the area.
He commended President Bola Tinubu, former National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, and other South-West leaders for ensuring a rancour-free transition process.
The APC chieftain, however, urged Iyantan to use his new office to foster unity, reconcile aggrieved members and galvanise support for the Renewed Hope agenda of the President.
