Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Chairman of the UN Budget and Appropriations Committee, has commended Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun for his administration’s infrastructure drive and strategic development vision.
Ibrahim made the commendation during a one-day official visit to Ogun State, where he joined Abiodun on an inspection tour of major ongoing and completed projects across the state.
The visit provided the UN envoy with an opportunity to assess the scale and quality of infrastructure projects being executed by the state government, particularly those targeted at stimulating economic growth and strengthening regional connectivity.
Impressed by the level of development, Ibrahim noted that strategic infrastructure was critical to attracting international investments, creating economic opportunities and promoting sustainable development.
He commended Abiodun for prioritising projects capable of delivering long-term economic benefits to the state and positioning Ogun as an increasingly important investment destination.
The governor, on his part, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to executing transformative infrastructure projects that would strengthen Ogun State’s position as one of Nigeria’s leading industrial hubs.
Abiodun said the government would continue to invest in projects designed to improve connectivity, support businesses and create an enabling environment for local and international investors.
The inspection tour underscores the growing importance of infrastructure development in Ogun State’s economic transformation agenda, particularly as the state seeks to consolidate its position as a major industrial and investment destination in Nigeria.
