Prof. Adedayo Faduyile, a former President of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA),, has penned glowing tribute to his father, the revered Paramount ruler and Abodi of Ikaleland, His Royal Majesty Oba George Babatunde Faduyile (Adegun II) as he clocked 88 years.
Oba Faduyile was born March 3, 1938 in the town of Ikoya in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo’ State.
Prof Faduyile, a stalwart of All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Okitipupa described the monarch as a symbol of symbol of unity, moral authority and selfless service to humanity.
Faduyile, the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Education, Kontagora, Niger State, thanked God for sparing his father till this time.
According to him, My heart is full of gratitude to God who has spared your life to witness another year.
“You are a living testimony of how humility, dedication and faith can elevate a man to serve his community, state and the nation at large,” he said.
Faduyile, a Professor of Pathology commended the royal father’s nearly three decades on the throne, noting that his reign has been defined by peace, cultural preservation, justice and steady leadership.
Faduyile, also one of the contenders for the vacant Ondo’ South Senatorial seat occupied by Sen. Jmoh Ibrahim further acknowledged the profound influence of the monarch on his personal and professional journey.
He added that the values of integrity, service and compassion instilled by his father had shaped his career in medicine, administration and public service.
“Kabiyesi has led by example, fostering unity among our people and maintaining cordial relationships with traditional rulers across Nigeria.
“Within Ikale Land, he has dispensed justice with fairness, equity and compassion, while consistently offering wise counsel for the progress of Ondo State,” he added.
It would be recalled that Oba Faduyile was traditionally installed as the Abodi of Ikaleland on Dec. 24, 1997.
