The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), chapter of Okitipupa Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State on Wednesday elected new Executives that will pilot the affairs of the council for the next four years.
The election which held at the multi purpose hall of the LGA Secretariat was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere devoid of any rancour.
Comrade Oluwagbenga Akinrinlola, NULGE President Ondo state, while congratulating the newly elected executives, said that the election process was free, fair and credible.
He added that NULGE was improving by the day, saying that gone were those days were security agents would be seen everywhere to beef up security because of NULGE election.
Akinrinlola commended NULGE members in Okitipupa LGA, for trooping out for the election and cast their votes peacefully for their preffered candidates which made the electioneering process free, fair and credible.
Accirding to him, NULGE is really improving because this election was formerly do or die affair where security operatives will be everywhere because of just NULGE election.
“I thanked the outgoing executives for giving the LGA a facelift in spite of that they met nothing on ground when they resumed office as the whole Secretariat was burnt down by the 2021 EndSARS protesters.
“I also enjoined the new executives not to tolerate political and outside interference and to emulate their outgoing counterpart, work as a team for a selfless service in ensuring that the give workers welfare the highest priority,” Akinrinlola said.
Meanwhile, Mr Niyi Adesokan, NULGE outgoing chairman, who give glory to God for supporting him throughout the four year tenure also commended his team for their understanding, dedication and cooperation.
Adesokan said that it was an hauclean task for him when he came on board as the whole Secretariat had been burnt down by the EndSARS protesters.
He added that with the support of God and good citizen of the LGA, the Secretariat was renovated even better than it was before.
“I thank my executives, staffs, state NULGE and well meaning citizens of Okitipupa extraction who donated to the rebuilding of our secretariat and other achievement that we celebrate today.
“I urge the newly elected executives to work as a team and picked it from where we have stopped for continuity, may God be with them,” Adesokan said.
Meanwhile, Comrade Ayeyemi Akinsoroju, the NULGE chairman-elect also promised to work together as a team with other executives to ensure that they were able to deliver as expected by members.
NAN reports that Ibilola Adenaya emerged as Vice Chairman elect, Olorunrunwa Awolete as Secretary, Lotp Olorunsola as Assistant Secretary, Morayo Omopintemi as Treasurer and Sunday Akimbo as Welfare,
Others are: Akintan Oke as Auditor, Olamitan Adenilole as Women Cordinator, Dele Olubanjo as Young Worker, Oluwaseun Olajide as Organising Secretary, Akinola Olatujoye as Trustee and Adesina Akintiye as Public Relations Officer.
