Educationist urges parents to encourage children with sport talents

Dr Mike Fatukasi, the Principal, Adedokun International Schools, Sango-Ota, Ogun, has advised parents to encourage their children with sports potentials to exhibit such talents for brighter future.

Fatukasi gave the advice during the 15th Inter-House Sports competition organised by the school on Saturday in Ota, Ogun.

He said that the advice had become necessary for parents as there is huge money in sports activities,adding that a lot even happening in global sporting world.

According to him, the Inter-House Sports is organised to improve the sporting activities of students and identify those who have good potentials to represent both the state and country at the international level.

The educationist explained that parents need to encourage their children who are good in one sport or the others so as to achieve their future goals.

He reiterated the commitment of the school to encourage children with huge potentials in sports to displace such talents so as to fulfill their destines in the future.

“We have discovered that some children are not so good in academics but good in sporting activities and the only way to discover such talented students is through Inter-House Sports.

“Why don’t we encourage such talented students who have potentials in one sports activities or the others to do so through the caught them young sports.”he said

Fatukasi noted these talented children in sports would be source of pride to their parents, schools and nation,after winning prizes at the international competitions.

The educationist urged the federal and state governments to explore Inter-House Sports activities in various schools to caught children with potentials young in order to restore the lost glory of the country.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Engr. Niyi Adedokun, the Chairman of the Adedokun International Schools,said that the Inter-House Sports was meant to discover talents among the students.

Adedokun said that the schools was the best private school in academic in Ogun State.

He said that apart from academic ,the school had won Milo Basketball Competition in the past 10 years in Ogun.

Eight houses competed in the l competition,which includes Blue,Yellow, Pink, White, Green, Orange, Brown and Purple House.

Orange came 1st, Blue 2nd while Purple came 3rd and they were rewarded with various medals and certificates of participations. (NAN)
