The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Ore Unit Command in Ondo State, says it will begin the arrest and impounding of commercial motorclists and their motorcycles, as from next week.
Mr Olusegun Aladenika, the unit Commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ore, that the command could no longer tolerate the havoc caused by the activities of the operators.
The FRSC boss said that commercial motorcycles around the Ore-Benin axis had injured many pedestrians, following their reckless driving on the expressway .
According to him, the expressway is not meant for commercial motorcycles, but in their bid to make money, the operators have injured a lot of pedestrians.
“We have sensitised and warn them on several occasions on this menace, but they refuse to oblige and we can no longer tolerate this unlawful acts.
“I am using this medium to state that as from next week, we will begin this enforcement by arresting and impounding eering motorcyclists and their motircycles,” Aladenika said.
He, however, urged motorists plying the Ore-Benin expressway, to always be cautious and patient, as well as reduce their speed, in a bid to save lives and properties. (NAN)
