A man simply identified as Gbenro has murdered his wife, Mrs. Wayesola, by strangling her to death while she was fast asleep.
It was gathered that the tragic incident happened at Salvation Army Street, Odojọmu, Ondo city at about 6am.
Confirming the incident, their daughter, Fayoke narrated what she witnessed.
She said, “I saw my father strangling my mother when I got up to ease myself. But I couldn’t do anything because my father threatened to kill me.”
“I shouted for help, and my noise woke the neighbours who came to my rescue, but already my mother was dead, “she said.
According to reports, the neighbors locked the door of the house to prevent the suspect from fleeing the crime scene as they called the deceased brother to come quickly.
Meanwhile, Ondo State Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Tee Leo-Ikoro, confirmed the incident.
He said that the matter has been transferred to the state CID for further investigation.
