Popular Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, known professionally as Toluwanisings, has died, his family has announced.
The family confirmed his death in a statement published on the singer’s verified Instagram page on Wednesday night, saying he passed away in the early hours of Oct. 14.
“With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of MINISTER OLAYEMI BAYONILE BOLAJI, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026,” the statement read.
The family described him as a dearly loved husband, family member and gospel minister, while asking the public to remember his wife and loved ones in their prayers.
It added that funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
News of his death followed reports on Wednesday that the singer had slumped at his residence in Ibadan after complaining of tiredness.
The incident reportedly occurred hours after he ministered at In His Presence, a monthly worship programme hosted by gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba in Ibadan on Tuesday night.
Toluwanisings’ death also comes months after he was involved in a road accident with members of his band while returning from a ministration.
Tributes have continued to emerge from colleagues and fans, including lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and comedian Woli Agba, who had earlier appealed for prayers following reports about the singer’s condition.
