Jordan Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has appeared before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama over a $2.1 million dispute involving land transactions in Abuja.
The suit, marked CV/008/2026, was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited.
The claimants alleged that they met Jordan in London before developing a relationship and later met him in Abuja.
According to their claims, they approached him for assistance in acquiring 30 hectares of land in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape.
They alleged that Jordan requested $2.1 million as facilitation fees for the transactions.
The claimants further alleged that Jordan told them $2 million of the money was intended for his father, while $100,000 was to be retained by him.
They claimed the $2.1 million was handed to Jordan on September 26, 2025, in the presence of Adamu Sani, Aliyu Sarki and Sai Wani, while Jordan was accompanied by one Onor Sandy.
The claimants alleged that after receiving the money, Jordan failed to facilitate the land acquisitions or refund the funds and subsequently became unreachable.
However, Jordan denied the allegations during Tuesday’s resumed proceedings.
Represented by Ogwu Onoja (SAN), Jordan adopted his statement on oath, while several documents were tendered through his counsel.
During cross-examination by the claimants’ counsel, Hamza Dantani, Jordan repeatedly denied knowledge of matters put to him.
Dantani subsequently asked the court to direct Jordan to write his full name five times and append his signature five times on a plain sheet of paper.
The defence did not oppose the application, and Justice Sylvanus Oriji granted it.
During further questioning, the court asked Jordan where he was on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants alleged the money was delivered.
Jordan told the court that he was not in Nigeria on that date.
When asked which passport he used to travel, he said he travelled with his American international passport.
Following the response, Dantani applied for an order directing Jordan to produce the passport before the court.
Justice Oriji granted the application and ordered Jordan to produce his American international passport.
The matter continues as the court considers the evidence presented by both sides.
