Ondo South Senator, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON has thrown his weight behind the empowerment initiative of Mr.Akingbade Toluwa-Jolomi under the flagship of Dakiz Human Development and Empowerment Initiative (DHDEI).

He, however, donated N1 million in the fundraising to support the initiative on Saturday at Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area.

The initiative according to the convener, Mr.Akingbade is to spur young people across Ilaje communities to achieve their potentials by exposing them to complete vocational training with the hope of creating for them a better future.

Akingbade said the challenge of affording basic tools and equipment makes the hope of the much desired better future to fade away, hence the need for his initiative not to just be restricted to vocational training but to also activate the fund raising aspect of the program.

According to DHDEI), the initiative will enable trained individuals to become entrepreneurs who will transform their families and communities for years to come.

“DHDEI was established with the conviction that sustainable development begins by equipping people with practical skills and creating opportunities for self reliance.

“Through our free vocational training programmes, we have invested in developing the capacity of young people, women and vulnerable members of our communities.

“We are committed to helping our graduates take final step from training to thriving businesses,” Akingbade said.

Faduyile who featured at the Ilaje youth empowerment event as a special guest congratulated the Executive Director and Convener, Akingbade for the lofty dream he has for youths of Ilaje who are the shoulders on which the future lies in the area.

“Our communities in Ondo South Senatorial District need more initiatives like this to encourage the youths and give them all the necessary support for them to be able to stand on their own.

“It is good to know that this initiative is launching the startup kit and business formalization fund with a fundraising target of N15 million.

“As a supporter of youth empowerment initiatives myself who is committed to how poverty can be mitigated and how unemployment can be combatted among the youths of Ondo South I will donate N1 million towards your cause.

“I am positive that the template being set here today will go a long way in growing vocational skills that will encourage economic sustainability among our youths.

“I wish you a successful deliberation,” Senator Faduyile added.
