The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a 10-member reconciliation committee to heal divisions within the party following its recent primary elections.
The state APC Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, said in a statement that the initiative was designed to rebuild unity, strengthen the party’s internal structure and prepare members for future electoral contests.
Prince Biyi Poroye will head the committee, while Engr. Bamidele Olanubi will serve as secretary. Other members are Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Rtd. Capt. Vincent Oyepata, Mr Kenneth Odusola, Erelu Modupe Martins, Hon. Babatunde Okeyomi, Yeyeoge Funmilayo Oluwadare, Hon. Mohammed Olawale Mutiu and Dr (Mrs.) Jumoke Aborode.
Kalejaye noted that the committee members were carefully selected to ensure fair representation from the state’s three senatorial districts.
He disclosed that the committee would be formally inaugurated at the party’s state secretariat in Akure on Monday, July 27.
According to him, the panel has been mandated to engage aggrieved stakeholders and address disputes arising from the recently concluded primary elections through the party’s internal conflict resolution process.
The committee is also expected to recommend practical steps for reconciling dissatisfied members and restoring confidence within the party.
Kalejaye expressed optimism that the reconciliation exercise would reinforce party cohesion and position the APC for improved performance in the forthcoming general elections.
