Jimoh Ibrahim leads Aseyori leaders to villa for high-level meeting with Tinubu

Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations and former Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, Amb (Sen.) Ibrahim Jimoh, CFR, PhD (Cantab), has returned to the country for high-level engagements with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The visit formed part of the Ambassador’s official responsibility to brief the President on Nigeria’s engagements and activities at the United Nations over the past few months.

As Nigeria’s chief envoy to the UN Ibrahim considers it imperative to keep the President informed on critical global issues, diplomatic developments and matters of national interest requiring the attention of the Commander-in-Chief.

Beyond his diplomatic assignment, Ibrahim remained a key stakeholder of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a committed supporter of President Tinubu’s administration.

In demonstration of his unwavering loyalty to the President and the party, he led leaders of the Aseyori Political Movement to the Presidential Villa for strategic consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting focused on strengthening the APC’s political structure, consolidating support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid and developing practical strategies to secure victory for the President, as well as APC candidates contesting seats in the Senate and the House of Representatives across Ondo State and other parts of the country.

Ambassador Jimoh reiterated his confidence in President Tinubu’s economic and governance reforms, stressing that the policies initiated by the administration require continuity to achieve sustainable growth, economic stability and national development.

He maintained that every committed party leader has a responsibility to contribute meaningfully towards the success of the administration, noting that his political movement would continue to mobilise support across communities in furtherance of the President’s vision for a prosperous Nigeria.

Speaking on Ondo State’s strategic importance, Ibrahim observed that the state recorded one of the strongest performances for the APC in the 2023 presidential election.

He emphasised that the party cannot afford to be complacent, insisting that greater efforts must be made to improve on previous achievements ahead of the 2027 polls.

The presence of leaders representing all three senatorial districts underscored the movement’s commitment to inclusiveness, unity and effective grassroots mobilisation as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.

Aseyori Political Movement, one of the largest grassroots political platforms in Ondo State, possesses the organisational capacity and reach to mobilise voters massively in support of President Tinubu and other APC candidates during the forthcoming elections.

In his remarks, President Tinubu commended Ibrahim Jimoh for his outstanding performance as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, describing him as a dependable and loyal public servant who has continued to project Nigeria positively on the global stage.

Accordijg to him, You have performed exceptionally well within a very short period. I am proud of you.

“You have made us proud. I can bank on your words any day, anytime,” Tinubu said

The visit to the Presidential Villa further reinforces Ibrahim’s dual commitment to advancing Nigeria’s interests on the global stage while remaining actively involved in strengthening the APC’s political fortunes at home.

The delegation to the Presidential Villa comprised prominent leaders of the Aseyori Political Movement drawn from the 18 Local Government Areas and the three senatorial districts of Ondo State, reflecting the movement’s broad grassroots spread and statewide acceptance.
