As the Adekunle Ajasin University , Akungba Akoko, (AAUA), gets new Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tomola Marshal Obamuyi, Ondo South All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder, Mr Omoyele Olabode has hailed his appointment, congratulating him as he resumed office.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa approved the appointment of Prof. Obamuyi as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution on Friday, June 26, in a press release credited to his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Adeniyan Indicated that Obamuyi emerged first among a broad group of 15 candidates interviewed by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Board.
Report has it that Obamuyi has since resumed as the new Vice Chancellor on July 8, succeeding Prof. Olugbenga Ige whose tenure ended July 7.
In an official congratulatory statement endorsed by Olabode, he noted that Obamuyi, with over three decades in academia brings a rich academic record that spanned a PhD in Management Science from Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in 2025, enviable research and mentorship and towering administrative experience.
Olabode commended Aiyedatiwa’s choice of Vice Chancellor for AAUA, stressing that this is the first time an academic from the Management Science and an astute Banking and Finance expert will be administering the university.
