Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been thrown into mourning, following the sudden death of Mr Tayo Olademehin, the Information Officer of the council.
Olademehin, 54, died on Friday while participating in Information Officers’ conference in Abuja.
Mr Andrew Ogunsakin, the council Chairman also confirmed Olademehin’s death in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Tosin Ayejusunle and made available to newsmen in Okitipupa.
Ogunsakin said that the untimely passing of the information officer was a painful and irreplaceable loss to the council, the media profession and the entire workforce.
He described Olademehin as an active, dedicated and outstanding officer whose commitment to duty, professionalism and loyalty earned him the admiration and respect among colleagues.
“On behalf of the government and people of Okitipupa Local Government, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the entire staff of the council, friends and associates.
“I pray that God grant them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Ogunsakin said.
The late Olademehin until his death, was the Chairman, Association of Local Government Information Officers (ALGIO), Ondo State chapter.
