APC postpone House of Reps primaries

The All Progressives Congress has postponed its House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general elections to Saturday, May 16.

The party announced the adjustment in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

According to the statement, all other previously announced dates for the party’s primary elections remain unchanged.

Under the revised timetable released by the APC:

The House of Representatives primary election will now be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

The Senate primary election is scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026.

The State House of Assembly primary election will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Governorship primary election is fixed for Thursday, May 21, 2026.

The presidential primary election will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The ruling party did not state reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primaries.

The statement reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to conducting its internal electoral process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
