A politician of worth and an All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholder from Ondo State, Mr. Omoyele Olabode has predicted that come 2027 general elections, the incumbent President and flag bearer of the APC will beat the other Presidential Contenders arms down.
Olabode who had an exclusive chat with newsmen maintained that isTinubu (BAT), the Jaggaban of Borgu holds all the aces and has the magic wand to electoral victory in Nigeria.
Expressing his confidence in the all round victory of his party, APC, Olabode said even at a time when it required the conviction to stand, Bola Tinubu became and remained ‘the only stand out Governor’ in the opposition in Lagos State, while his colleagues in the defunct Alliance For Democracy (AD), fell cheaply and sheepishly for the device and subtle deception of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He notex that as the only opposition governor in the South-West, he stood up to the ravaging bully of the Federal Government and salvaged the already battered structure of the Alliance for Democracy.
Going down memory lane, Olabode indicated that the journey of the AD through its different structural metamorphosis until it grew full circle into a progressive major ruling party in Nigeria and as one of the largest party in any black African country is incomplete without the mention of the giant input of Bola Tinubu who single handedly believed that the budding progressive party birthed in Lagos can ride and soar to become a ruling party and a national carrier of structural development of Nigeria.
He noted that it was not out of desperation but a surrender to a superior political logic and calculation that late President Muhammadu Buhari who had run serially for.
Presidency without ‘making it’ had to team up with the great political thinker, Bola Tinubu,. making it very easy to realize his almost overdue dream of becoming Nigerian President and until his death, Buhari was grateful to Tinubu for offering him the APC platform which has a national appeal as a go – to party- for victory.
Olabode affirmed that if Tinubu as a big time planner made Buhari President and that is on record, if Tinubu won his first term on his conviction that it was his turn as ‘ a king maker’ to morph into kingship, a rare assertion that has become incontrovertible, definitely his desire for a second term, logically and politically speaking is a walk in the park.
He noted that the opposition is too rag tag to pose a threat to APC’s victory in the January 2027 general election, adding that the major opposition are too much in disarray to put up their thinking cap for a victory poll. “This is not about mocking the opposition,” Omoyele said.
“The major Opposition party we know in Nigeria is PDP but what do we have? PDP has successfully held two separate conventions and rather than coalesce and put forward a cohesive plan, the two factions of the fractured once -upon- a ruling- party are on each other’s jugular fighting for recognition and jumping from one court to another, shopping for exparte motion that will affirm either faction’s authority over the other.
This is not the doing of APC… this is not the prayer of APC for them unfortunately that is the reality of the PDP; it is terribly fragmented now and even when they had unity they couldn’t beat President Bola Tinubu,” Olabode said with an air of putting down to zero the winning chances of PDP.
He added that the other emerging opposition, ADC looks like a plane career with that name which hardly flew before it went moribund, assessing them as a unit cut out of PDP because it was disgruntled and remain disgruntled because as they say, ‘ a house that stands against itself can never stand firm.’
In his appeal to Nigerians about the state of the nation’s economy, Olabode said no standardization of a battered economy picks up suddenly and shows vibrancy, adding that Tinubu is revamping the economic spreadsheet of Nigeria and the statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBC) gives credence to a steady rebound of the economy.
While Olabode asserts that the APC has the winning streak and Bola Tinubu holds all the aces to winning the Presidency again in 2027, he said the voters are the ultimate winners, adding that the lot of Nigeria is better consolidated under the continuity of the Tinubu Presidency.
