There was palpable tension in Akure, Ondo State capital as suspected kidnappers have reportedly stormed a Government Health Centre in Oke Ijebu, in the early hours of Saturday around 2:00 a.m., abducting all staff on duty.
According to one of the patients , the attackers arrived in a large bus, forcefully entered the medical facility located beside Mega School, and took away six health workers, including some interns.
The assailants reportedly took all the victims into the bus before driving off to an unknown destination.
Security agencies are yet to release an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
Residents of the area are said to be in shock, while calls are mounting for urgent security intervention and the safe rescue of the abducted health workers.
