A Muslim Group, The Muslim Congress (TMC) Ondo State Chapter, has called on Muslim faithful and the good people of Ondo State to support Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa in his endeavours to move the state to a place of pride in education, quality healthcare delivery, infrastructure, empowerment and industrialization.
The Waali (Coordinator), TMC Ondo State, Mallam Abdul-Majeed Adebayo made the call in his Eidl-el-Fitr message and felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the state, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan amidst joy, pleasantries, funs and feasts.
Adebayo made the call in a statement signed by Mallam Luqman Adelakun, the Public Relations Officer of TMC, Ondo State on Friday in Okitipupa.
He commended Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to religious harmony in the state by reopening the Central Mosque, Ikare and prayed that Allah would continue to grant the governor the enablement, guidance, protection, will and wisdom to sail the ship of the state to a place of pride in the country.
Adebayo, enjoined Aiyedatiwa to always demonstrate true commitment to education funding and quality monitoring, practical youth empowerment and affordable state-of-the-art healthcare delivery in the state, stressing that these, would help in curtailing insecurity and bring about responsible and patriotic citizenry.
He, also urged, the governor to see to timely completion of the ongoing Ondo-Ore Road and Okitipupa-Igbokoda dual carriage Road, saying the roads, if completed would reduce traffic, enhance security, fast track movement of people and goods and development, especially with the upcoming Seaport in Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
“I urge the governor to prioritise good governance and shun all distractions that can prevent people of the state from enjoying dividends of democracy.
“I thank Allah and felicitate with Muslim faithfuls across the state for witnessing the end of 1447A.H (2026) Ramadan fast.
“May Allah grant us the grace to witness many more Ramadan in sound health, happiness, peace and prosperity “, he prayed.
Adebayo, however, reminded Muslim faithfuls that through Ramadan, a yearly God ordained socio-spiritual training course may have ended, but the invaluable lessons it taught must reverberate in individuals life within the next eleven months.
He maintained that if 70 percent of Nigerians can truly imbibe, live and reflect the invaluable teachings of Ramadan in their daily hustle as well as personal and communal lives, Nigeria would fare better and remain peaceful, progressive, abundant and safe haven for all and sundry.
“We should imbibe the invaluable teachings of Ramadan, including activation of living conscience in individuals, God constant consciousness, self-policing, spirituality, unselfishness, love and concern for others, sharing, empathy, guarding against evils, unity, equality, patience, tolerance and honesty in all our private and public undertakings”, Adebayo said.
