A group of Nigerians in Diaspora of Ondo South origin has thrown their weight behind the Senatorial ambition of The Professor of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, Prof. Dayo Faduyile, OON.
Prof. Faduyile is a crown Prince of Abodi of Ikale, Oba George Babatunde Faduyile who served under the late Governor Akeredolu’s administration as Special Adviser on Health after his eventful tour of duty and community development service as National President, Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).
The group under the auspices of ‘Concerned Ondo South Indigenes in The Diaspora’, in a statement made available to news men said Prof. Dayo Faduyile has the pedigree and wherewithal that qualify him as the alternative personality that can pick up from where Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim will be handing off in The Red Chamber when he is eventually posted out as Nigerian Ambassador.
Spokesperson of Concerned citizens of Ondo South in The Diaspora, the Wolverhampton, United Kingdom based Dayo Awotula indicated that Ondo South did not make mistake in their choice of sending one of their best, Sen. (Dr). Jimoh Ibrahim,CFR to the Senate.
He added that in The Red Chamber, when Sen. Ibrahim holds the floor, his articulate opinion holds the nation spell bound, stressing that his education and arrays of international degrees stand him out as he dissects legislative views with articulate clarity even as he added that it was not a surprise that the Presidency singled him out for the Ambassadorial designation from The Senate because the Ondo South Senator stands out among his peers as a polished and refined national law maker.
Awotula added that Ondo South has entered national consciousness as the district whose Senator boasts of a plethora of PhDs from across Ivy league Universities in the world from Oxford to Harvard among others, stressing that while his shoe size will become tasking to be filled in his Senatorial representation, the district will do well to look beyond sentiments in replacing him with someone whose academic profile presents the assurance that the Southern district of Ondo will not be short changed in the Senate.
He added Dayo Faduyile is a Professor of Medicine who is steeped in academic engagement and who also doubles in active political engagement of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group noted that Prof. Faduyile stands out as a competent Medical Administrator and his tenure piloting the affairs of the national body of NMA as well as the arrays of achievement he recorded is a testimony of his competence and efficiency.
The group called on the major stakeholders of the ruling APC in Ondo State to support the Senatorial aspiration of Prof. Faduyile, OON, whom in their estimate can continue the good job of sound legislative representation which Senator Jimoh Ibrahim has commenced in The Senate.
The group vowed to provide necessary supports and logistics towards the actualization of Prof. Faduyile’s Senatorial ambition.
