Breaking: Former Ondo SDP gov’ship candidate, Akingboye is dead

Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA), a former Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate at the Nov. 16, 2024 governorship election in Ondo State is dead.

The news of his death is contained in a statement signed by Mr Oyeniyi Iwakun, his Personal Assistant and Media Adviser on Wednesday.

The statement said that Akingboye passed on in the early hours of Wednesday at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos.

He described the late Akingboye as a man of unwavering integrity, an accomplished businessman, philanthropist, visionary leader, and community builder who lived a fulfilled and purposeful life.

According to the statement, With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our father, brother, mentor, and leader, Akingboye.

“He died earlier on Wednesday morning at his residence in Victoria Garden City (VGC) in Lagos.

“Late Akingboye as a man of unwavering integrity, an accomplished businessman, philanthropist, visionary leader, and community builder who lived a fulfilled and purposeful life.

“Burial arrangements and further details will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.

Akingboye, the Olowomeye one of Ikaleland, was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Benshore Maritime, CEO of Clog Oil Systems and President of WeAfrica Group.

He was survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
