Tragedy has struck the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko ((AAUA)) in Ondo State as the two missing students have been found dead.
Andrel Eloho Okah, a student of History and International Studies, and John Friday Abba, of the Economics Department, were discovered lifeless over the weekend. Both were in their second year.
The two had been declared missing three weeks ago. Their coursemates raised the alarm after they failed to show up for academic activities. A formal complaint was later made to the police.
According to a security source, the students were killed by suspected abductors.
“It’s sad to confirm that the two missing students have been found dead. Their bodies were discovered in a bush along the Akoko–Ekiti border,” the source told our reporter on Sunday.
Security operatives were immediately dispatched to retrieve the corpses.
A fellow student, who asked not to be named, described the atmosphere on campus as gloomy.
“It’s heartbreaking. The news has thrown everyone into mourning. There’s just darkness everywhere,” he said.
The police spokesperson in Ondo State, Olayinka Ayanlade, said he would provide further details soon.
The confirmation of their deaths has sent shockwaves through the university community
