Focusing on building on good legacies of HRM late Oba Lawrence Babajide is beyond turns, court cases, others

..…..A congratulation message to Oluoke-elect and Okeigbos

By Ayochris

As a bonafide son of Kuole/Okeagbe Ruling House with the presume believe that it is our turn to produce king of the town and a true lover of His Royal Majesty (HRM), late Oba Lawrence Olu Babajide, the originator of ” Okeigbo tun-tun”. With these aforementioned, If I organized a protest against Oluoke-elect, some people will see it as my legitimate right but I will not as a true lover of the town and ” Okeigbo tun-tun”

One of the factors  that will determine how peaceful the Oluoke-elect regime will be is how protective he is to the late HRM Oba Lawrence Babajide’s legacies, the originator of ” Okeigbo tun-tun”.

Late HRM, Oba Lawrence Babajide might have died but the veins and scars of his struggle for the development of the town are alive for life. Any attempt to rubbish his legacies or his reigned time as the bonafide late king of the town may bring the opposite reactions from the people of the town because he totally won the hearts of his people before he went to visit his ancestors.

To Kuole/Okeagbe Ruling House and others Ruling Houses, it is our right to protest against Oluoke- elect as it is fundamental right of any group to protest after following necessary procedures in the constitution of our country but before starting any protest, let us look deeply and enlist the causes of our protest.

Is it because of the turn or the competence of Oluoke- elect you want to turn Okeigbo, the melting point of noticable towns to boiling point? Dear Okeigbo Youth, It is better we use our heads before someone uses it for us. who tells you , you can’t be governor or any meaningful person in future, don’t let another person’s interest turns you to prisoner.

Give me one reason that it is because of competence, I will give you 10 reasons that Oluoke- elect is competent to build on legacies created by HRM , late Oba Lawrence Babajide.

Turn is just an arrangement of some elites of the town which started 2005. History tells us that Aderinsokun ( Ologbeunla), Orayigbe Ojaja the 1st, who was Baale of Okeigbo before he became Oni of Ife between 1880 – 1894 ( the ancestral father of reigning Oni of Ife) who decided to rule Ife from Okeigbo conceded the balee to Kugbayigbe because of age which it is known as one of the criteria for competence then and later became Baale and Oni of Ife. Assuming he had scattered everything with a fight then when Kugbayigbe was made first Baale, would he attain those positions( Baale of Okeigbo and Oni of Ife simultaneously)? Let us be wise!

“As Okeigbo settlement attained a township status and Baale was to be pointed, Aderinsokun Ologbeunla was the preferred candidate but instead denied on the ground that Kugbayigbe was older and was installed at the first Baale in 1832″~HRM Oba Lawrence Babajide

There is no doubt that commencement of the royal ruling started with the struggle of National Association of Okeigbo Students in 199s and 2000s with the notice that enthroning the highest ranking Chief automatically upon the demise of a reigning monarch can’t bring momentum developments to the town anymore which brought Ruling House.

I will urge everybody that has any grudges against the attainment of Oluoke-elect to drop their swords and embrace the continuous development of the town. We can disagree but it will be wrong to be disagreeable.

Kingship in Yoruba land is deeply intertwined with fate, both for the individual chosen as king and for the community they lead.Paulo Coelho says and I quote ” I can control my destiny, but not my fate. Destiny means there are opportunities to turn right or left, but fate is a one-way street. I believe we all have the choice as to whether we fulfil our destiny, but our fate is sealed.”

I will end this personal opinion article by Congratulating  Oluoke- elect, Prince (Barr) Akintoye Adeoye, the  President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and people of my lovely Jerusalem, Okeigbo ( Ok City). Okeigbo tun-tun a gun o ke si nigba ti wa o (Amin)
