Ondo LG boss tasks workers, councillors on hardwork, dedication

Mr Andrew Ogunsakin, Executive Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government Area (LGA) of Ondo State, has tasked workers and councillors on hard work, dedication, and transparency for vast development of the council.

Ogunsakin, while addressing workers, councillors and other stakehokders during his assumption of duty on Thursday at Okitipupa Local Government secretariat, also promised to priotise workers welfare.

He urged elected councillors to discharge their duties with integrity, diligence and utmost commitment to  develop the council.

The local government helmsman also promised to work in synergy with councillors and other party members to ensure vast development of the council area for residents to enjoy dividends of democracy.

“I acknowledge that no single individual has all the answers.

“In the days ahead, we will initiate town hall meetings and consultations with community leaders, stakeholders, interest groups, and citizens to ensure that our decisions reflect the will of the people.

“The responsibilities before us are enormous, but I am confident that with dedication, transparency and fear of God, we shall deliver dividends of democracy to our people.

“To the diligent workers, I recognise your invaluable contributions to the smooth running of the administration. Your welfare will remain top priority for us.

“I urge councillors to discharge their duties with integrity, diligence and utmost commitment to develop the council area in no time.

“I also urge all councilors to maintain open lines of communication with their constituents, listen to their concerns, and work assiduously to address their needs,” he said.

Ogunsakin also appreciated the unwavering support and guidance of traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders, saying their wisdom and counsel would continue to be invaluable to his government.

He, however, expressed his deep appreciation to Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State for his trust, support and belief in his ability to serve the people of Okitipupa Local Government Area.

The chairman also appreciated All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders for their unwavering support, mentorship and dedication to the ideals of democracy, which was the foundation he stood on.

Ogunsakin thanked the people of Okitipupa for casting their votes for him and other councillors, and assured that his administration would serve the people diligently.

“I am committed to policies and programmes that will enhance the quality of lives for all.

“We seek your support, cooperation, and constructive criticism as we work towards building a prosperous and progressive Okitipupa LGA,” Ogunsakin added.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ogunsakin and the councillors in the 12 wards of Okitipupa, won the Jan.18 LGA election under the platform of APC. (NAN)
