Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State on Monday in Akure sworn-in as the 7th democratically elected governor of the state.
It would be recalled that Aiyedatiwa of All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged winner of the Nov. 16, 2024 governorship election in the state.
Aiyedatiwa polled 366,781 to defeat his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 117,845 votes
His swearing-in marked the beginning of his first full four-year term after replacing late Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who died in office in 2023.
The ceremony which held at the Ondo State Sports Complex in Akure, the state capital, two months after he won the governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa took his oath of office just after his deputy, Olayide Adelami around 12:59 pm.
