No fewer than 10 travellers were abducted by unknown gunmen along the Owo-Ipele-Benin highway on Tuesday in Ondo State.
The victims were reportedly returning from a South-South state to Akure when the attackers ambushed them.
Their commercial vehicle was later found abandoned by the roadside, leading other drivers to alert authorities.
Meanwhile, ASP Funmilayo Odunlami, the Ondo State Police Spokesperson wjo confirmed the incident stated that seven people were abducted.
She added that Investigations are ongoing, and more updates will be shared as they unfold.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families to demand ransom for their release.
