Just In: Sen. Ifeanyi Uba is dead

Sen. Ifeanyi Uba, a federal lawmaker representing Anambra South Senatorial District at the National Assembly is dead.

The businessman and oil magnate, who was flown out of the country and had been receiving medical treatment in the United Kingdom for the past few weeks, died on Saturday morning in a London hospital.

Sources close to the family report that Senator Ubah’s condition became critical in the past 48 hours, leading to his untimely demise.

The exact cause of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain’s death remains skeptical as of Saturday morning.

Ubah was a politician, an entrepreneur and businessman was until his death served as the CEO of Capital Oil (CCO), which he founded in 2001.

He also ran a foundation which is named after himself; Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation.

He was married to Uchenna, a Business Administration graduate from Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, with whom he had five children.

In September 2022, Ubah escaped assassination attempt when he was attacked by gunmen on his way to Nnewi in Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State.

His convoy was shot at and at least five persons, including two policemen, were killed but he survived as his vehicle was bulletproof.
