Troops of the Nigerian Army in collaboration with the Ondo Amotekun Corps, have successfully rescued Abuja-bound passengers who were kidnapped on Tuesday.
It would be recalled that the six passengers in a Sienna bus were abducted by kidnappers while traveling between Akunu in Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo and Ayere in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State.
In a swift response, officers from the Nigerian Army and Amotekun Corps pursued the abductors, scouring the forest and eventually rescuing the victims by 10:00 p.m. the same day.
Among the rescued victims were a 74-year-old Madam Alicia Afolayan and 29-year-old driver Kabiru Yakubu.
Meanwhile, Afolayan and Yakubu recounted that during the attack, all passengers fled into the forest, but the kidnappers used white dogs to track them.
Yakubu further explained that the rescue was carried out by a combined team of Nigerian Army troops and Amotekun personnel.
