The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ore Unit Command in Ondo State has said it would deploy all personnel and special marshals in its command to Ore-Ijebu Ode, Ore-Ondo and Ore-Okitipupa expressway for the Eld-el-Kabir celebration.
The Federal Government has declared June 17 and 18 to celebrate the Eld-el-Kabir cerebration.
Mrs Yetunde Adesina, the FRSC Unit Commander in Ore told journalists on Saturday that the command would also deploy two patrol vehicles, one ambulance and one heavy duty tow vehicles to check excesses of motorists and clear obstruction during and after the festive period.
She also said that the “Eld-el-Kabir Special Patrol” which began on June 14 to June 21 was to checkmate excesses of drivers and reduce crashes during and after the celebration.
Adesina also warned motorists against any form of reckless and dangerous driving that could result in the loss of lives and properties during and after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to her, motorists are warned against speeding, wrongful overtaking, drunk driving, use of phone while driving, among other negative behaviours on the highway.
“I also use this opportunity to appeal to drivers to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey for the safety of the occupants of the vehicles,”Adesina said.
She, however, said that the command would collaborate with other sister agencies and relevant stakeholders towards ensuring that the command records zero accident during and after the celebration.
