President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday slipped at the Eagles Square, venue of the 2024 Democracy Day celebration.
Tinubu slipped while boarding the parade vehicle.
He had approached the vehicle shortly after he arrived at the venue.
When the President slipped, his security details and other aides immediately rushed to him and assisted him to regain his balance.
Meanwhile, Special Adviser to Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has reacted to the President’s slip.
In a post on his X handle, he reassured the public,
“Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues.”
This statement followed the circulation of videos showing President Tinubu momentarily losing his footing as he stepped into the vehicle.
Despite the incident, the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings without further issues.
The ceremony at Eagles Square was a key event in the series of celebrations held nationwide to mark Nigeria’s annual Democracy Day.
