Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Chief Ola Iwaeni, a former elected Vice Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan on Saturday in Akure.
It was reported that the Igbotako-born chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness.
Before his death, Chief Iwaeni was a member of the Governing Council of the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa.
“Chief Iwaeni was a dedicated servant of his people and a passionate advocate of grassroots development and his contributions to political movement and community development will never be forgotten.
“Iwaeni as a committed party man and associate, said his death was a devastating blow to the party, Igbotako community and the state at large,” Aiyedatiwa said.
The governor, however, expressed his commiserations with the Iwaeni family, the people of Okitipupa LGA and the progressive fold in the state and prayed for the repose of his soul.
