In a statement issued and signed by Barr. Banji Okunomo, Spokesman of the political group, he claimed that there was no election in the 203 wards in the state.
It will recalled that the leadership of the APC had opted for the direct mode of primary election in Ondo State in line with the APC Constitution and Primary Election Guidelines.
The primary was supposed to take place simultaneously in the 18 Local Government Areas and the 203 wards in Ondo State.
In all, 171, 922 party members drawn from the 203 wards are to determine the party’s candidate for the governorship election, scheduled for November 16, but unfortunately, there was no election in any ward in the state.
According to Okunomo, The truth is that no primary election was conducted. What happened in all the 203 wards in Ondo State can be described as a sham, It defies all descriptions of decency and democratic conduct.
“I am from Ilaje LGA, they should show us the pictures of where Mr Governor himself voted . There was no voting anywhere! The election riggers just sat in the comfort of their hotel rooms where they allocated votes according to their preference to the aspirants,”
the spokesperson of the Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, CFR Campaign Organisation Banji Okunomo said.
Okunomo, who is also the Spokesman, Jimoh Ibrahim Campaign Organisation said that the most nauseating aspect was where they allocated over 15,000 votes to Mr Mayowa Akinfolarin one of the Governorship aspirants who had withdrawn from the race two days before the ” Sham” purported be an election in a widely circulated video.
“Mayowa who said in the video that he had gotten instruction from above to close out his aspiration to support the incumbent, How on earth would the same Mayowa defeat the three other major contenders viz Jimoh, Oke and Akinterinwa?- can you see the nakedness of the mega fraud?.
“Any act or action that reduces the capacity of our people to openly and freely exercise their democratic rights is anti-democratic and it will never stand” he said.
Another chieftain of the group, Dr Segun Ayodele thanked every member of the “Aseyori Group” and supporters in Ondo State for their steadfastness and cooperation and charged them to be calm as the allocation of results without election will not stand.
