Ondo 2024: I didn’t endorse Aiyedatiwa says Oleyelogun

A former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun has debunked the news making round that he endorsed Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the Ondo 2024 governorship race.

He made this known in a statement he signed on Monday and made available to newsmen.

Oleyelogun stated that he and other former Speaker only went to visit Aiyedatiwa to solicit for his support for the the sponsorship of their attendance of Conference of Former Speakers Forum in Adamawa.

He added that the group at no time agreed that the visit was for the endorsement of Aiyedatiwa.

He said that the general public should note that he had only endorsed Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim for the 2024 governorship election saying after endorsing him, he can no longer endorsed another aspirant.

He urged the general public to disregard the news linking him with the endorsement of Aiyedatiwa for his governorship aspiration.

“I want the general public to disregard the news linking me with the endorsement of Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa as a former Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly.

“For record purposes, former Speakers of the State House of Assembly visited Governor Ayedatiwa to solicit for his sponsorship of our attendance of the Conference of Former Speakers Forum which held in Adamawa State recently.

“At no point during our visit did we agree that the visit was for his endorsement. I therefore very surprised to stumbled on some online news stating that Ex-Speakers endorsed Aiyedatiwa including my humble self.

“The general public should please take note that i have endorsed Senator Jimoh Folorunso Ibrahim for Governor of Ondo State in the 2024 elections and after endorsing an aspirant, I can’t go back and endorsed another.

“I, Rt. Hon. (Prophet) Oleyelogun Bamidele David did not have any other candidate for the governorship race in Ondo State than Sen. (Dr.) Jimoh Folorunso Ibrahim,OFR, a man with a wealth of experience, an astute businessman, and a philanthropist who processes the charisma and capability to take Ondo State to the next level.

“I remain focused. My loyalty and total commitment to my late Principal, Aketi is unshaken and undiluted. Taking the above into consideration, I have decided to work with his friend Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim for his long term ambition of becoming the first citizen of this state to come to reality,” Oleyelogun said.
