The Super Falcons of Nigeria have dropped out from the ongoing 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The women’s team of the giant of Africa will not play in the quarter-final.
The development arise after the Falcons lost 2-4 to England via penalty shoot-out in the round of 16 on Monday.
The well-played match ended with a 0-0 draw with England after 120 minutes and resulted in a penalty shoot-out.
Desire Oparanozie and Michelle Alozie missed their spot-kicks during the penalty shoot-out.
The quarter-final stages will take place on Friday and Saturday.
Despite dropping out of the tournament, President Tinubu commended the team for their sterling performance from the beginning of the tournament.
