Eid-el-Fitri: Pray for smooth transition of government, Jimoh Ibrahim charges Muslims

Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, business mogul and Senator-elect for Ondo South Senatorial District has urged Muslims to pray for the smooth transition of government in Nigeria as Muslims celebrate the Eld-el-Fitri celebration.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigeria would witness another transition to inaugurate President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s President, the 10th National Assembly members-elect, House of Assembly members-elect and governors-elect to steer the ship of the country.

Ibrahim, founder of University of Fortune Igbotako also urged Muslims across the state, Ondo South and Nigeria at large to uphold love and peace at all times among themselves.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart gave this advice on Friday in Okitipupa in his congratulatory message through his media aide, Mr Bola Olagbegi to Muslims across Ondo South, Ondo State and Nigeria at large on the occasion of the Eld-el-Fitri celebration.

Ibrahim, the Araba of Ikaleland, noted that Ramadan fast was a significant season of piety in which the faithful penitently seek Allah’s face, living a life of discipline and abstinence from all wordly encumbrances that can distract them from focusing on the injunction of Allah, the most benevolent.

The Senator-elect also charged Muslims not to go back on all the lessons of Ramadan and all the good virtues they have learnt during the period, adding that Eid-el-Fitri offers another special opportunity for Nigerians to pray for Nigeria particularly as the nation is preparing to transit to another democratic governance.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, it is my hope and prayer that the spiritual lessons of Ramadan and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence with others, tolerance, honesty and dedication to duty will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear nation.

“May the lessons and blessings of the Holy month also permeate all national endeavors and positively influence our attitudes towards our fellow men and women, irrespective of religion or origin and promote greater commitment to the peace, unity and stability of the nation,” he said.

Ibrahim, therefore wished all Muslim faithful happy Eid-Mubarak, praying to Allah to grant them many more years in good health to experience more Ramadan.

NAN also reports that Eid-el-Fitr marks the end to the month long Ramadan fast, and the commencement of Shawaal, the 10th month of the Islamic lunar calendar. (NAN)
