Dr Jimoh Ibrahim, All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Candidate for Ondo South, has felicitated Nigerians and his constituents on this year’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Ibrahim, in his congratulatory message issued on Friday in Okitipupa, Ondo State, said that Christmas season had brought a refreshing memory of the love of Jesus Christ for mankind.
The business mogul said that the season was essentially about the need for people to spread love towards one another, as it was only through love for one another that evil deeds and violence could be reduced across the world.
According to him, this year’s Christmas festivities provide another opportunity for Nigerians to see how to join hands in love to stem the tide of hatred and other vices that had seized the nation by the jugular over a period of time.
Ibrahim, who is the founder of University of Fortune, Igbotako, Okitipuoa Local Government Area of Ondo, however, cautioned against wasteful revelry, both during and after the yuletide.
Meanwhile, the senatorial candidate, in his bid to support APC members across the 66 wards in Ondo South, has donated N6.6 million (N100,000 per ward) as Christmas and new year gift.
According to him, party faithful at the wards are the backbone of the party and, therefore, deserve to be appreciated for their loyalty to the party.
The NICON Insurance boss urged APC members to continue to work for the party’s APC in Ondo South senatorial district and the state in general in the 2023 general elections.
“The people of Ondo South stand to benefit a lot by continuing teaming up with the party at the centre and the APC presidential candidate, Sen. Bola Tinubu.
“Tinubu’s chances are very bright in the presidential election and, by God’s grace, he will win and improve the nation, as promised in his blueprint.
“How about us in Ondo South? God forbid that we swim against the tide. We are too exposed in Ondo South and we know where our lots can be better improved.
“I have taken my time to understudy our major challenges and I have taken it upon myself as a bona fide Ondo South person to right all the wrongs of several decades.
“I am offering myself to represent the good people of Ondo South because we cannot afford not to send our best hand to where legislative decisions on national growth and development are taken.
“I have promised in different fora that at the senate, I shall leverage all my contacts to cause a state of emergency on electricity that has kept our senatorial district out of the national grid for more than two decades.
“We should not be deceived by pecuniary politics. Our light out challenge in Ondo South is a mega-project that requires the legislative and collaborative efforts of both the senate and the executive arm of government.
“Anybody who says otherwise either knows the truth and not saying it or he is ignorant of the challenges on ground,” he said.
Ibrahim said that the right people with the required intellectual energy, absolute knowledge and courage of their conviction to speed up the socio-economic development that had eluded the senatorial district were needed.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ibrahim had recently concluded a tour of the 66 wards in his senatorial district to have first-hand information on the myriad of challenges facing the people of the district. (NAN)
