Covenant University Centre for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR) Ota, says it is set to hold its fourth National Budget Roundtable and Panel Discussion Recovery on March 31, 2022.
The Chairman of CEPDeR, Dr Obindah Gershon, disclosed this in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ota.
According to the statement, the event with the Theme ‘National Budgeting for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development in Nigeria’ will be held at the CUCRID Auditorium, Covenant University, Ota in Ogun.
Gershon said that the government needs to consider the adoption of zero-based budgeting towards improved macroeconomic performance and sustainable development.
He added that, this is pertinent in the light of the ongoing energy transition and increasing national debt.
As such, Ms Patience Oniha, Director General of Management Office, would be the Keynote Speaker at the event.
Other economic experts expected at the CEPDeR’s roundtable discussion include: Dr Ayo Teriba, CEO of Economics Association, Gabriel Okeowo, Budget country director, Jimi Ogbobine, Head of Consulting at Agusto Consulting limited and Gbemisola Alonge, Economist and Senior Development Analyst at Stears Business who will be the Moderator.
