The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday, cautioned motorists against causing traffic gridlock on the highway while queueing at petrol stations to buy fuel.
Mr Sikiru Alonge, the FRSC Unit Commander in Ore, gave this warning while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ore, Ondo State.
Alonge said the issue has been given FRSC a hard time since the fuel scarcity began, urging motorists to always maintain one lane at petrol stations without disturbing passage of other vehicles.
He also urged petrol stations manager to also find possible solutions to queues that spill to the highway, thereby affecting other road users.
“We implore motorists to ensure they maintain orderliness while they queue to buy fuel at petrol stations in order not to cause traffic gridlock on the highway.
“Petrol stations manager are also advised to ensure that motorists do not create double queue or disturb other road users who are going for their businesses”Alonge said
He, however, urged all road users to always abide and obey traffic rules and regulations at all times as any erring motorists caught would face the full wrath of the law. (NAN)(wwww.nannews.ng)
