Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, the newly appointed Vice- Chancellor (V-C), Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has expressed his commitment to raise the institution’s ranking.
Ologunorisa speaking at the handover ceremony on Thursday in Okitipupa pledged to make the institution a major global player in learning and research.
”I will soon unveil my turnaround agenda for this university. My dream is to raise its global ranking.
”My focus is to make the institution one of the bests in education, learning and research,” he said.
He thanked Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for finding him worthy of serving as the university’s vice -chancellor.
He also commended the university’s Governing Council for its transparency and insistence on merit which culminated in his appointment.
Ologunorisa urged the staff of the university to be diligent and committed toward achieving set goals.
In his speech, the outgoing V-C, Prof. Sunday Ogunduyile, urged Ologunorisa to be focused on the need to enthrone quality education.
“’I wish you a successful tenure as the vice- chancellor of our great university. Remain focused on making positive impacts,” he said.
It would be recalled that Ogunduyile’s tenure ended on Feb. 22, after serving as the vice-chancellor of the university for five years beginning from Feb. 24, 2017.(NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
