Okitipupa LG boss task workers on dedication to service

Mr Akinrinwa Igbekele, Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday urged government workers to be hard working and be dedicated to public service.

Igbekele who was represented by Mr Johnson Ikuejamowa, the Local Government Area Secretary, gave the advice in Okitipupa during the sentforth and retirement programne held for Mr Emmanuel Ojo-Sanni.

Ojo-Sanni, is the immediate past Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) of the council.

According to the chairman, hard work and dedication to duties are rewarding at the end and I urge all government workers to imbibe these in order to promote the public service.

“Ojo-Sanni have served meritoriously and he is enjoying the benefits of all he has done while in service.

“I wish him all the best in his future endeavour and pray that God will be with him and his families,” Igbekele said.

Mr Omoniyi Adesokan, Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Okitipupa Chapter, who spoke on behalf of other workers, also extolled the virtues of the retiree, saying that he had done well.

He urged other principal officers to learn all the good characters of the outgoing retiree and impact well on the junior staff without any form of acrimony.

“Mr Ojo-Sanni came at a time when the secretariat was set ablaze by EndSARS protesters; he played a pivotal role in the rebuilding of the council secretariat.

“Because of his good character, hard work, dedication and sterling performance throughout his service year, NULGE gave him “Distinguished Administrator Award” today to celebrate him and for others to emulate,” Adesokan said.

In his remarks, Ojo-Sanni gave glory to God who had been with him since he assumed duty until he bowed out of service.

He also extolled all his well-wishers who had celebrated him.

He said he was surprised with the show of love from other principal officers, urging all to be in unity and keep the flag flying.

“I am indeed joyous today for the show of love from all. I return all glory to God and urge all principal and junior officers of this council to be in unity and keep the flag flying,’’ Ojo-Sanni said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that many workers were in a happy mood as they gave good account of the retiree who was presented with two freezers, a giant Scanfrost gas cooker and several other gifts items. (NAN)
