Sen. Nicholas Tofowomo, representing Ondo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has urged Muslim faithful to pray against the new surge of COVID-19 as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitri.
Tofowomo said this in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola, on Thursday in Okitipupa.
Tofowomo also urged Muslims to observe the COVID-19 safety protocols by keeping social distancing, regular washing of hands among others.
The lawmaker while identying with Muslims across the state especially his constituents in Ondo South, he felicitated and extended his good wishes to them all.
“I extend my good wishes to the Muslim community in Ondo State most especially the good people of Ondo South on the celebration of Eid-el-Fitri and urge them to pray against the new surge of COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the people will gather with families and friends to experience the virtues of sharing and caring, I urge them to observe COVID-19 protocols.
“My people should stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as social distancing, wearing a mask, avoiding crowds, regular washing of hands,” Tofowomo said.
“He, however, urged them to be grateful to God for His heavenly blessings, giving them the opportunity to finish the Ramadan fast and celebrating the Eld-el-Fitr in good health. (NAN)
