The Election Petition Tribunal siting in Akure, Ondo State on Tuesday struck out the petition of the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Eyitayo Jegede against the incumbent governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Party (APC).
The PDP and its candidate, Jegede had challenged the Oct. 10, 2020 guber election that returned Gov. Akeredolu.
The tribunal judgement, which was earlier scheduled for Wednesday April 20th, was rescheduled last night to today and was held via Zoom.
The two hours judgement, however struck out Jegede’s petition for lack of Jurisdiction.
According to the tribunal, “Issue raised therein in this petition are settled issue of internal affairs and management of a political party which this tribunal has no Jurisdiction”.
