Hon. Favour Semilore-Tomomewo, the lawmaker, representing Ilaje Constituency 2 at the Ondo State House of Assembly has debunked alleged claim of her expulsion from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This was contained in a statement she signed on Thursday and made available to newsmen in Okitipupa.
Newspread247 reports that the lawmaker was allegedly expelled from the APC in a letter dated Oct.13, jointly signed by Olamigoke Ajimuda and Taid Omosule, Chairman and Secretary, respectively, for APC, Ilaje Constituency 2.
The letter alleged that the lawmaker was involved in anti-party activities by funding, working, and canvassing publicly for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) before and during the just concluded governorship election in the state.
Meanwhile, Semilore-Tomomewo declared as fake, the letter making the rounds, adding that she was not privy to such purported expulsion letter.
She said that she remained a bonafide APC member in Constituency 2, Ilaje Local Government Area (LGA).
The lawmaker, however, urged her supporters and constituents to disregard such claims, affirming that such letter was concocted by people who are used as tools of destruction.
“I have been restrained not to react to some gullible minded persons that have been brainwashed and used as tools of destruction to concoct one letter of a purported expulsion rumour circulating on the social media platforms.
“I make bold to tell all and sundry that I remain a bonafide member of the APC since such alleged expulsion letter have neither been transmitted to me nor received by me.
“I, therefore, appeal to all residents of Ilaje LGA and Ondo State in general to disregard this rumour, as it is just a threat that deserves no attention,” she said.
Newspread247 also reports that Semilore-Tomomewo was the only female lawmaker in the state Assembly and among the nine lawmakers who vehemently opposed to the impeachment of the state’s deputy governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi sometimes in August.
