The Ondo State governor, Oluwrotimi Akeredolu has directed all civil servants from grade levels 1-12 to resume work from Monday, October 5, 2020.
Akeredolu gave this directive in a statement signed by the permanent Secretary, Office of Establishments and Training, Mr Victor Olajorin on behalf of the head of Service, Dare Aragbaye.
The state government had asked civil servants in the state to stay at home from March, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, in a bid to curtail the spread of the pandemic in the state.
He noted that efforts of the State Government in combating the deadly COVID-19 pandemic has yielded encouraging results to the effect that the curve of the virus has been flattened to a very large extent in the State.
Despite the stay at home, government has been paying salaries of public servants, as at when due, carried out year 2020 promotion and conversion of deserving officers, including those on GL. 01-12.
The state governor enjoined the workers to rededicate and commit themselves to effective and efficient service delivery to reciprocate government’s good gestures.
He assured that no Public Servant of any category would be sacked before and after the gubernatorial election in the state in alignment with his avowed promise made with respect to enhanced workers’ welfare..
The governor said the present Administration would continue to employ more graduates and school leavers into different cadres in the Public Service without reneging on its avowed promise on regular payment of salaries.
