Hon. Agboola Ajayi, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Governorship Candidate for the forthcoming Oct. 10 governorship election in Ondo State has promised to end the total blackout in Ondo South Senatorial District.
He made this pledge on Tuesday during his campaign tour to Igbokoda in Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
Newspread247 reportso that several communities in the southern part of the state has been disconnected from the nationalgrid and has been in total blackout for almost a decade.
Ajayi, who hail from the district said that he was not happy over the untold hardship the blackout has brought on residents which has also affected the economy of the area.
The ZLP Candidate also said he would ensure full autonomy for Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) for people in the district to enjoy the dividends of their natural resources.
Ajayi who is also the state’s, deputy governor, said it was only a state governor that could solve the problems confronting the people in Ilaje and other local governments in the state.
”No deputy governor can solve your problems. I am the current deputy governor of this state and I know what I am talking about.
“Do not be deceived with the slot of deputy governorship candidate All Progressives Congress (APC) gave to Ilaje.LGA,
“A governor is what we need in the south to put end to the lingering blackout and to ensure full autonomy of OSOPADEC for the economy of this area to bounce back and for residents to enjoy the benefit of such economic boom.
”You all can attest to my performance as a former federal.lawmaker, I have identified all the majority problems In each LGA’s and will be solved and I will not run a government of father, mother and son,” Ajayi said.
The campaign tour of the ZLP includes his running mate, Gboye Adegbenro, Banji Okunomo, Kola Ademujimi and other chieftains who were received by a mammoth crowd at the campaign ground.
