There are strong indications that the leadership of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) may have settled for Mimiko’s former Commissioner for works, Gboye Adegbenro, as Agboola Ajayi’s running mate in the Oct. 10 governorship election.
Adegbenro is one of Mimiko’s loyalists who has stayed with him since he left office in 2017.
According to our source within the ZLP who preferred not to be named stated that, “there are about three candidates being considered by the national leader, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
Adegbenro standa out because of the sacrifice he made to drop out of the Senatorial race in 2019 and allowed Mimiko run for the seat.
Adegbenro was also loved by young people and politicians across party divides as
Mimiko was expected to brief the major stakeholders of the development this week.
